Adrian Street has passed away.
Street died on Monday at Cwmbran’s Grange University Hospital in Wales. Street’s family confirmed his passing to the BBC.
Street’s wife, Linda, said her husband had recently had health issues. Linda, who was also Street’s longtime manager, said the cause of death was sepsis that developed from a bout with colitis.
“He’d had a heart problem a while ago which was resolved,” she said. “But then he had a stroke earlier this month which resulted in a bleed on the brain.
“He was recovering from that at home when he developed colitis – a chronic inflammatory bowel disease – which later turned into sepsis. That’s what killed him. It all came about so quick. I’ve still not come to terms with it yet.”
Adrian Street was known for his flamboyant costumes and taunting his opponents. “The Exotic One” would skip around the ring and kiss opponents’ foreheads, and put makeup on them when they were incapacitated.
