Tyrus reveals that he recently had his knee drained.
The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion has not wrestled since the Crockett Cup event on June 4. However, he has been announced for NWA 75, where he will put his NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship on the line.
Speaking with Joe Galli on NWA’s Instagram, Tyrus provided an update on his knee. He stated that he had it drained, but he will be 100% for the pay-per-view.
“Everything‘s great. I had to get it drained after the Crockett Cup. The doctor advised me to take some time off and rehab, and look at the way I’m training. No one is in this business for as long as I’ve been in this business or in this sport, and you’re gonna have some knicks and knacks. Sometimes, you gotta listen to your body. I needed to take time off to get right. Didn’t want to come into the [NWA] 75 limping. I’m coming in, no excuses, 100%. Whatever happens, happens. If I lose, it’ll only be one guy’s fault, mine. When I win, it’ll be one guy’s fault, mine. So instead of a retirement party, we’ll have an afterparty.”
Tyrus will defend the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against EC3 at NWA 75. The bout will be a Bull Rope Match, and if Tyrus loses, he said he will retire. More information is available here.
Tyrus Comments On Claims He Brings Politics To NWA
Tyrus recently responded to claims that he brings politics to the NWA, given his work on FOX News. Speaking with WrestleZone’s Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, he made it clear that he’s in the NWA to wrestle.
“Love me or hate me, I have great self-esteem, so I don’t give zero F’s about somebody’s personal opinion,” he said. “I don’t bring politics to NWA, I bring wrestling. I don’t get on my microphone and tell everybody how to vote. I’m there for as long as Billy will have me, wrestle the best of my ability, and do what I want to do, and again, the babyface thing is kind of happened.”
Billy Corgan also responded to the criticism of Tyrus. Click here to see what he had to say.
