Trish Stratus wants to keep reaching new heights and making history.
Stratus returned to WWE ahead of WrestleMania 39 and teamed up with Becky Lynch and Lita at the show. There, the trio defeated Damage CTRL (Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai). Since then, Stratus has remained a prominent part of the roster. She turned heel, and she has been feuding with Becky Lynch.
Pat Laprade for TVA Sports asked her what goals she has now that were unattainable earlier in her career. She responded by stating that she wants to compete in some type of cage match.
Imprison me in a cage,” Stratus said. “I’ve never had a cage match! And it doesn’t matter what type of cage is. The one without a roof, a Hell in a Cell or an Elimination Chamber. There were so many things we weren’t allowed to do at the time.
“I remember being hit with a chair once and everyone was messing around. And I was like, my faith, can you just hit me with a chair! So now I want a cage.”
Stratus also commented on her decision to stay with WWE after her high-profile win at WWE WrestleMania. She described how having opportunities that were once unavailable to her compelled her to keep going.
“To be able to wrestle in Saudi Arabia, to be able to wrestle in a ladder match – Money in the Bank was my first ladder match – to be able to fight against Becky, Raquel (Rodriguez), Bayley. I’ve fought so hard to change perceptions for women’s wrestling. Now that these opportunities are possible, I don’t want to miss them as long as I can perform 100%,” she said. “And my lifestyle and my health allow me to do that.”
Stratus recently crossed one new first off her list, as she competed in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WWE Money in the Bank 2023.
