Some familiar music played at GCW Now and Forever, and The IndyTaker (Matt Cardona) walked to the ring.
Game Changer Wrestling held their Now and Forever event at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York City, on July 14, and Cardona pulled out all stops for the show. He came to the ring dressed as The IndyTaker, a clear parody of The Undertaker, complete with a black coat and hat that looked a like the legend’s classic attire.
Cardona even entered to The Undertaker’s theme song, and Steph De Lander, Matt’s tag team partner, carried an urn to the ring. Plus, Cardona had “DMK” (Death Match King) written on his chest as a fake tattoo to complete the look.
De Lander and Cardona, collectively known as Deathmatch Royalty, then defeated BUSSY (Effy and Allie Katch) in a hard-fought match at the show. They also accepted a challenge from Nick Gage and Maki Itoh for a match at GCW Homecoming.
Cardona previously introduced the similar RyderTaker character in a video he posted online; he and De Lander have regularly posted videos together since they joined forces earlier in 2023.
