A new report shines some light on Johnny Gargano‘s status.
The former NXT Champion last wrestled on the May 15 episode of WWE RAW, where he competed in a battle royal for a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Rumors about Gargan being injured have been swirling, and with WWE SummerSlam just a month away, Gargano’s status has been unclear.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that while Gargano’s status for WWE SummerSlam could not be confirmed, he is no longer injured, and he was factored into recent creative plans. Per Sapp, Gargano was backstage t WWE RAW in Cleveland, and before plans changed, he was set to be on the show. “Johnny Wrestling” had been dealing with a recurring shoulder injury, but he has been “fine” for some time.
