Court Bauer: Alex Kane Is Special, It’s Fascinating To See His Evolution

Court Bauer is proud of the growth of Alex Kane in Major League Wrestling.

Alex Kane is prepared to challenge Alex Hammerstone at MLW Never Say Never on July 8, 2023. Kane has quickly risen through the ranks of MLW, and Court Bauer is proud of his continued upward trajectory.

Speaking with Jeremy Lambert on Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds, Bauer praised what Alex Kane has been able to do in such a short period of time in MLW.

“I’m so proud of him. To ascend like he has and have that constant upward trajectory is impressive. A lot of guys stutter, they slow down, they veer off, their head blows up, all of these things. He’s been steadily progressing. [He was] in the Open Draft and starting out with King Mo,” Bauer said. “And then finding his own voice, and becoming a killer on promos, and then bell-to-bell, just continuing to grow and add to his arsenal. Like that’s all you can ask for. “

“It’s fascinating just to see his evolution in front of the crowd and also behind the scenes,” Bauer continued. “A lot of the locker room starts to crowd around him and he’s become a locker room leader at a very young age. Usually, it’s the old grizzled vets that have been around for a long time, but he’s got this energy. He’s got this thing that you just don’t see every day, and he’s very special, and I’m very proud.”

Wrestlezone will have coverage of MLW Never Say Never on Saturday, July 8.

Alex Kane Interview

Make Or Break Moment

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with Kane about the importance of a show like MLW Never Say Never. Kane said it’s extremely important and considers his match against Hammerstone as a pivotal moment for him.

“We’re already on the map, but the impact hasn’t been big enough,” Alex Kane said. “I know with the Reelz deal like we’ve reached a certain demographic that nobody else is really touching. I think with it being live and that demographic, being able to reach even deeper into that demographic will be extremely beneficial for us.

“Then, for me, I feel like every, every big moment that I’ve had in MLW has been a test, and this is like the final. It’s not the final exam, but it’s a [big test]. Can I perform under this kind of pressure or not? This is like a make or break moment.”
