Natalya Explains Why 7/3 WWE RAW Match Was An ‘Apology To Myself’

Natalya comments on her most recent battle with WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.

Natalya has had a rough couple of weeks, but on Monday night, she had an opportunity to score some redemption. After losing to Rhea Ripley in 70 seconds at WWE Night of Champions, Natalya was on a mission to prove to the world, and herself, that hadn’t lost her edge.

“The Queen of Harts” was then scheduled to face Ripley again on the June 19 episode of RAW. Unfortunately, that match never even had a chance to start, as Ripley attacked Natalya from behind as she posed on the ring apron.

Natalya would then return the favor during last night’s episode of RAW. After blindsiding Ripley during her entrance, Ripley managed to fight back, and the WWE Women’s World Championship match finally got underway. With an extended window to compete, Natalya was finally able to showcase some of her impressive offense. The WWE veteran put up a valiant effort against Rhea Ripley, but in the end, it was Ripley who emerged victorious, delivering a Riptide to gain the pinfall just ahead of the 13-minute mark.

Following Ripley’s victory over Natalya, Ripley began attacking her in the ring. Luckily for Natalya, she had some backup waiting in the wings. Unified Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez then rushed down to make the save, forcing Ripley to retreat.

Despite her loss, Natalya appears proud of her performance.

“Tonight was personal,” she tweeted. “It was an apology to myself for putting up with what I didn’t deserve. Thank you so much to everyone who still believes in me, even when I didn’t always believe in myself. It truly means the world to me.”

Nattie followed up on her initial remarks, reminding fans where she comes from:
