AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Results (6/25): Danielson vs. Okada, Omega vs. Ospreay

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: SANADA (c) vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry (with HOOK)

Perry and SANADA square off. Perry sends SANADA to the outside and dives onto him. SANADA briefly takes control, but Perry fires up. SANADA goes for the Paradise Lock and traps Perry. The champion hits a big boot. Perry responds with a dropkick. Perry levels SANADA with a lariat and hits a Tiger Driver. Perry and SANADA trade stiff chops. The challenger gets a two count with a backslide, SANADA counters a crucifix, but Perry reverses it into the Skull End.

SANADA reaches the ropes to break the hold. The champion dumps Perry with a TKO for a two count. Perry spikes SANADA with a reverse hurricanrana. SANADA goes for the Skull End, but Perry reverses into a pin attempt. SANADA hits a Shining Wizard for a two count. A moonsault earns SANADA the win.

Winner and still IWGP World Heavyweight Champion: SANADA

HOOK and Perry walk up the ramp. Perry turns on HOOK, as he drops the FTW Champion with a lariat out of nowhere. Perry briefly holds the title before he puts it down and walks away.

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta), Konosuke Takeshita & Shota Umino vs. The Elite (Hangman Page & The Young Bucks), Eddie Kingston & Tomohiro Ishii

The Elite controls the action early on. Takeshita and Ishii go back and forth as they trade shots. The Young Bucks double-team Yuta and Umino. Moxley and Kingston square off, and the intensity is palpable. They exchange blows, and neither man gives an inch as they light each other up with chops. The Young Bucks dive onto their opponents at ringside. Page dives onto Umino and Yuta. Castagnoli draps Kingston with a cheap shot, and the BCC gains the upper hand. Castagnoli grounds Kingston, and the BCC isolates him.

Ishii comes in and rocks Takeshita with a strike, but Takeshita nails Ishii with a stiff blow. Umino stomps Kingston, and the BCC continues to dominate. Moxley stops Kingston from tagging out. Kingston and Moxley trade chops. They knock each other down with clotheslines. Ishii tags in and goes blow for blow with Castagnoli. Takeshita and Umino gang up on Ishii. They double-team him with a powerbomb/inverted DDT. Ishii rallies and tags Page, who fires up with a flurry of offense. Page nails Takeshita with a nasty shot to the head.

Page hits a fallaway slam and dives onto Yuta. Page kicks Takeshita into the Young Bucks and dives onto him. The Young Bucks double-team Takeshita and go for the BTE Trigger, but Takeshita evades it. Takeshita hits both Matt and Nick with a German suplex. The Bucks fire back with double superkicks to Takeshita, Umino, and Castagnoli. Moxley rallies and spikes Matt with a DDT. Takeshita hits a Blue Thunder Bomb. Matt is left alone with Takeshita and Umino. Takeshita slams Matt, who gets German suplexed by Yuta. The BCC isolates Matt Jackson and double-teams him. Castagnoli sends Matt swinging, and Yuta kicks him, but the pin gets broken up.

Castagnoli drills Matt with the hammer-and-anvil elbows. Nick Jackson breaks up a double-team splash. Ishii tags in and takes control. He hits a superplex for a two count. Ishii and Kingston kick Yuta. Umingo kicks Nick into the corner.

The match breaks down into chaos, and bodies are flying. The Jacksons superkick Moxley and Yuta. Page goes for the Buckshot Lariat, but Yuta counters it into a superplex. Ishii hits Yuta with a lariat and a brainbuster for the win.

Winners: The Elite (Hangman Page & The Young Bucks), Eddie Kingston & Tomohiro Ishii

Kingston is upset after the match, and he argues with the Young Bucks.

AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) (with Ruby Soho and Saraya) vs. Willow Nightingale

Nightingale and Storm lock up and feel each other out. Storm leaves the ring early on and regroups with The Outcasts. Back in the ring, Willow gets a two count with a pin attempt. Nightingale continues to control the action. She argues with The Outcasts at ringside, and she bonks their heads together. Storm takes control and grounds Willow in the ring. The Outcasts interfere, and they get ejected from ringside. Willow drops Storm with a lariat and goes up top, but Storm gains the upper hand and gets a two count with a hip attack. Nightingale floors Storm with a spinebuster.

Willow traps Storm in the Indian Death Lock. She floors Storm with a Pounce, and the champion rolls to the outside. Willow drills Storm with a series of lariats. Storm gouges the eyes and hits the Storm Zero for the win.

IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Will Ospreay (with Don Callis)

Ospreay and Omega lock up and feel each other out. Omega gains the upper hand. Omega and Ospreay trade chops. Ospreay counters the One-Winged Angel, and Omega reverses the Os-cutter, as the match is a stalemate early on. Ospreay takes control with a thumb to the eye, and he drives Omega into the corner. Omega gains the advantage, but Callis trips him. Callis gets ejected from ringside. Ospreay dives onto Omega at ringside. He sends the champion hard into the steel steps and the ring post. Ospreay gets a two count with a brainbuster.

Ospreay hits a Shooting Star Press while Omega is hung up on the apron. He drops Omega with the Os-cutter, and both men land hard on the apron. The challenger slams Omega’s head onto the broadcast table multiple times. Omega is busted open, and Ospreay slams him through the covering of a broadcast table. Ospreay licks Omega’s blood off his arm, savors it, and says, “Yum.”

Omega tries to rally, but Ospreay drops him with a forearm. Ospreay signals for the V-Trigger and nails Omega. Ospreay grabs a Canadian flag from a fan and rubs it between his legs. He also blows his nose with it. Omega rocks Ospreay with a lariat. He wraps the flag around Omega’s throat and slams him. Omega hangs Ospreay with the flag. Omega hits Ospreay with a V-trigger and nearly spills into the front row. The champion slams Ospreay’s head onto the steps and busts him open. Omega drops Ospreay with a DDT on the steel steps. Back in the ring, Omega continues to control the action. He locks in a triangle choke, but Ospreay powers out of it with a powerbomb.

The two foes trade suplexes. Omega nails Ospreay with a V-trigger, but Ospreay gets a two count with a standing Spanish Fly. Ospreay locks in the Sharpshooter and transitions into a crossface. Ospreay and Omega keep battling. Omega counters the Os-cutter with a knee in the head. Omega hits two snap Dragon Suplexes. The champion spikes Ospreay with a Poisonrana and a pilledriver for a two count. Ospreay rocks Omega with a thrust kick. Ospreay hits a Sky Twister Press to the outside. Both men go for strikes. They trade counters. Ospreay hits the Liger Bomb. Ospreay hits the Os-cutter for a two count. Both men are down, and Callis makes his way back to ringside. Omega nails Ospreay with a knee strike. Callis gets on the apron and tries to protect Ospreay as Omega goes for the V-trigger. Omega hits it anyway. Callis hands Ospreay a screwdriver as he distracts the referee.

Ospreay hits Omega with the One-Winged Angel, hits the Hidden Blade and goes for the pin after the Stormbreaker, but Omega gets his foot on the rope. Ospreay rocks Omega with a knee and hits the One-Winged Angel, but Omega kicks out at one. Omega and Ospreay are on their feet, and they trade blows. They trade stiff blows. Omega hits a brianbuster. Omega dumps Ospreay with a German suplex. The champion hits the V-Trigger. They trade counters, and Ospreay hits the Tiger Driver 91 for a two count. Ospreay hits the Hidden Blade and the Stormbreaker for the win.

Winner and new IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion: Will Ospreay

Ospreay celebrates, and the medical team checks on Omega. Callis walks away with Ospreay.

Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki vs. Sting, Darby Allin & Tetsuya Naito

Guevara and Naito start off, and “The Spanish God” strikes a pose. Naito sends him to the outside and strikes a pose of his own. Suzuki and Allin trade blows. Sting and Jericho tag in and stare each other down. The two teams enter the ring and brawl. Guevara breaks up a Scorpion Death Lock with a diving cutter, and Sting lands hard on his head. Jericho, Guevara, and Suzuki pose together. Guevara gets a two count with a Spanish Fly on Allin. Naito drops Jericho with a neckbreaker. Jerichoo and his parners go for stereo submission holds, but Sting and his team break free.

Allin dives onto Suzuki at ringside. Jericho catches Allin with a Judas Effect in mid-air. Jericho puts Sting on a table. He argues with Guevara and orders him to hit the 630 Splash through the table. Guevara reluctantly follows the order. Sting breaks up the Walls of Jericho and locks Sting in the Scorpion Death Lock. Suzuki breaks it up. Jericho gets a two count with a Codebreaker on Naito. Naito and Sting double-team Suzuki, and Naito pins him.

Winners: Sting, Darby Allin & Tetsuya Naito

Jericho attacks Naito with his bat, and Sting disarms him.

Bryan Danielson vs. Kazuchika Okada

Danielson enters to “The Final Countdown” by Europe. Okada and Danielson face off, and they get “This is awesome” chants before they touch.

They lock up and battle for positioning. Danielson stomps Okada in the surfboard position and proceeds to do jumping jacks. The two stars trade counters, and Okada hits a back elbow. The match spills out of the ring, and Okada gains the upper hand with a big boot. Danielson slams Okada shoulder-first into the ring post. Danielson hits a diving knee strike. “The American Dragon” targets Okada’s arm. Danielson goes for the Cattle Mutilation and transitions into a pin attempt for a two count. Okada fires up after some chops from Danielson. Okada drops Danielson with a big boot. He gets a two count with a DDT. Okada grounds Danielson. He catches Danielson with a neckbreaker.

Danielson drills Okada with some elbows and hits a missile dropkick. They exchange clubbing blows. Okada wins the battle with a shotgun dropkick. Danielson dumps Okada with a German suplex. Danielson evades the Rainmaker but gets caught with a dropkick. “The American Dragon” takes Okada down and goes for an arm-bar. Okada escapes. Danielson goes for a dive, but Okada counters with a Rainmaker attempt, which Danielson blocks. Danielson hits a dropkick and rocks Okada with his signature kicks. Okada spikes Danielson with a Tombstone on the ramp.

Okada gets Danielson back in the ring and hits a diving elbow drop. Okada calls for the Rainmaker, but Danielson collapses and starts convulsing. The doctor checks on him, but Okada picks Danielson him. Okada goes for the Rainmaker, but Danielson hits the running knee, and both men are down. Danielson hits the running knee again for a two count. Danielson says, “It’s time to kick his f—- head in,” and he kicks Okada’s head multiple times. He goes for the LeBell Lock, but Okada counters it. Danielson levels Okada with a kick. Okada hits the Rainmaker for a two count. Danielson takes control and wrenches Okada in a brutal arm-bar. He pulls Okada’s leg into the hold and makes him tap out.

Winner: Bryan Danielson
