The rivalry between Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite will continue at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
On the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley challenged The Elite (Hangman Page and The Young Bucks) to a five-on-five tag team match at the pay-per-view. Moxley noted that the Blackpool Combat Club has assembled a “truly elite team.” The lineup includes Konosuke Takeshita, who helped the BCC beat The Elite at AEW Double or Nothing, and Moxley’s ally in NJPW, Shota Umino.
The Elite then accepted the challenge and noted that they have friends all over the place. Likewise, they said that plenty of people hate the BCC. Eddie Kingston was then revealed as one of their partners, as he said he may not like The Elite, but he hates Claudio Castagnoli more. Kingston then said he would pick their final partner.
Later in the show, Tomohiro Ishii was revealed as fifth member of The Elite’s team.
