Tommaso Ciampa is back.
On the June 19 episode of WWE Raw, Seth Rollins was set to hold an open challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but Finn Balor attacked him from behind. The Miz then came to the ring and expressed his disappointment, as he noted that he was going to answer the challenge. Determined to show the crowd what a winner was, The Miz issued a challenge for anyone in Cleveland to face him.
“No One Will Survive” played, and former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa came to the ring. Ciampa then took the fight to The Miz and scored a decisive win over “The A-Lister.”
Ciampa had been absent from WWE TV since August 2022, and he last wrestled at a live event in September, as he had been sidelined following hip surgery. Prior to his injury, he had been aligned with The Miz on WWE RAW.
