Gable Steveson Intends To Use Final Year Of NCAA Eligibility

Gable Steveson wants to return to NCAA competition.

Steveson won national championships during his time at the University of Minnesota, but his collegiate wrestling career seemingly came to an end. However, he has since returned to competition at the US Open and Final X.

Speaking with FloWrestling, Steveson made it clear that he intends to return to competing in the NCAA next year. The 2020 Olympic gold medalist has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining, as the 2021 season did not count due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

FlowWrestling also noted that Steveson has to figure out the scheduling details with WWE before his return becomes official. Steveson signed a NIL deal with WWE in 2021. He appeared at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, and he also made an appearance on SmackDown in December 2022.

Steveson recently stated that his time is coming sooner than people think. Check out his comments here.

WWE has approved Steveson’s request to compete in upcoming tournaments, but the company has yet to sign off on his hope to wrestle in the 2024 Olympics.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
