Adam Cole and MJF went the distance on AEW Dynamite.
The June 14 episode of Dynamite kicked off with an AEW World Championship Eliminator match pitting MJF against Adam Cole. Per the Eliminator rules, if Cole won, he would earn a future title match.
The bout was full of intense counters and nearfalls as the bout almost ended in count-out at one point. MJF hit a flying elbow drop onto Cole through the timekeeper’s table, and Cole was just barely able to get back in the ring before the 10-count.
Referee Bryce Remsburg also took a bump, which resulted in Cole getting a close nearfall as Remsburg recovered. MJF low-blowed Cole and attempted to use his Dynamite Diamond Ring, but Remsburg put a stop to that. Cole then hit the Panama Sunrise and The Boom, but the 30-minute time limit occurred in the midst of Remsburg making the count.
Cole requested “five more minutes” from MJF, but MJF simply rolled out and walked away with his title in hand.
