Nathan Frazer is the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion.
During the June 13 episode of WWE NXT, Noam Dar came out on crutches ahead of his scheduled Heritage Cup defense against Nathan Frazer. Rather than canceling the match, Dar announced that Oro Mensah would compete in his place.
Frazer won the first fall by pinfall and then Mensah scored the win in the second fall. A winner was not decided in the third fall, but then the action ramped up in the fourth. When Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson attempted to interfere, Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon ran down to neutralize them.
In the ring, Frazer was able to hit a big splash on Mensah and pin him to win the bout and the Heritage Cup in the process.
Frazer is now the fifth man to hold the cup. Dar was in the midst of his second reign, which lasted 292 days thanks to NXT UK’s hiatus and Dar’s inactivity until recently.
