Thunder Rosa On Her Back Injury Recovery: Things Are Going As They Are Supposed To

Thunder Rosa provides a status update.

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa has been sidelined since August with a back injury. Ahead of AEW Collision’s premiere, Rosa spoke to NBC Chicago about how her recovery is coming along.

“It’s going pretty well (recovery from injury). Things are going as they are supposed to go,” Rosa said (h/t POST Wrestling). “I am super happy that I’ve been pain-free. That was the most important part. I think it took forever. I think everybody’s expecting me to give them news. But, I am working out everyday, trying to get back in the ring as soon as possible and if it’s possible.”

Rosa last appeared on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite by walking into Tony Khan’s office to set up the eventual announcement of Collision. Rosa is featured on promotional posters for AEW’s newest program, which seems to indicate that may be where she will appear more often once she returns to action.

Thunder Rosa told Dominic DeAngelo of Ad Free Shows that she’s learned so much over the last nine months being in a different role than an in-ring performer.

“I have to look at everything in a different way. And that forces me when I return to really pay attention to selling, to telling a story,” she explained. “Really working with your partner and to create a great story, and to elevate each other, which is very important. So I have learned so much, I can go on and on.”
