All Elite Wrestling producer BJ Whitmer has been fired by the company after he was arrested last week on charges of domestic violence.
Whitmer was arrested on the evening of June 4 by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in Boone County, Kentucky. According to the records, Whitmer was charged with strangulation in the first degree and burglary in the second degree. A bond of $25,000 was set, and Whitmer was released on June 12, 2023.
In a statement issued to Fightful (who first reported on the news), All Elite Wrestling confirmed the news, and said that Whitmer had been “terminated following his arrest,” and that the company reached out to offer support for those who may have been affected by his behavior.
“B.J. Whitmer has been terminated following his arrest on domestic violence charges,” said AEW in its statement. “While talent and staff are ultimately responsible for their own personal actions, this behavior is intolerable within AEW. AEW has reached out to offer support to those impacted by his behavior.”
Prior to his role as producer at All Elite Wrestling, Whitmer was an in-ring competitor, best known for his time at Ring of Honor, where he was a four-time Tag Team Champion.
