Skye Blue was a recent guest on Hey! (EW) with RJ City, who said many people would describe her as wholesome. City asked her to share the worst thing she’d ever done, and Skye Blue said she got kicked out of church for lighting a kid on fire.
“I got ex-communicated from church. I may or may not have light a kid on fire,” she said.
“[Handing me a candle] was the first mistake,” she explained. “I just didn’t like him. I didn’t like a lot of people back then. And my mom was in the back row watching and she’s like, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t do it, bitch! Don’t do it.’
City said her mom knew enough to know Skye would light someone on fire, and Skye agreed.
“That’s why she gets really scared when I come to work. ‘Don’t do dumb shit,’” she added. “Well, [it didn’t catch on fire that quickly] but it was one of those weird, creepy-looking robes and they’re very flammable. God knows when the last time when they washed them.
“He just dropped [to try and put out the flames]. And I giggled,” she said. “They also thought I was crazy because I had colorful hair. It wasn’t blue though, it was pink.”
City asked if her mom was mortified by the incident. Skye said she actually tells the story now with pride, mentioning it before she notes her daughter is an AEW wrestler.
“No, she thinks it’s hilarious,” Skye stated. “That’s the first story she tells people. She doesn’t tell people her kid’s a wrestler, she’s like, ‘Oh yeah, my kid lit someone on fire.’”
