Alex Shelley has finally won the world title in IMPACT Wrestling.
At IMPACT Against All Odds, Shelley headlined the show as he challenged Steve Maclin for the IMPACT World Championship. The two stars battled it out, and they threw everything they had at each other. In the end, Shelley pinned Maclin with the Shellshock to win the gold.
Shelley celebrated the victory with his tag team partner, Chris Sabin, who won the IMPACT X-Division Championship earlier in the show.
Maclin previously won the title, which had been vacated due to an injury to reigning champion Josh Alexander, by defeating KUSHIDA at IMPAC Rebellion on April 16.
The win marked Shelley’s first world title victory in IMPACT; he is a former X-Division Champion and a three-time IMPACT World Tag Team Champion. He made his debut for the company back in 2004 and left in 2012. Shelley later returned to IMPACT in 2020. After leaving the company in September 2021, he returned again the following March.
