KENTA wants to secure the bag.
On June 8, Fightful Select reported that the NJPW star has been internally discussed as a potential opponent for CM Punk at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. KENTA and Punk have been feuding outside of the ring for years, as Punk took KENTA’s finishing move, the Go To Sleep.
They have taken a number of shots at each other, and KENTA even teased a match with Punk after the latter’s AEW return was confirmed for the premiere of AEW Collision.
In a tweet, KENTA responded to the report about a match between the two and wrote, “Oh hell no. Tell Tony Khan GIVE ME THE BAG.”
Fans will have to wait and see whether Khan will wind up giving KENTA the bag.
CM Punk’s in-ring return has been confirmed for the premiere of AEW Collision; he will team up with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to face Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe. More information is available here.
