Blackpool Combat Club defeated The Elite in a wild Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing.
In the main event of the pay-per-view, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Hangman Page battled Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. The brutal match spilled all over the arena, as the two teams fought in the crowd, and Claudio wound up in the concessions area with Matt Jackson. They fought their way into the parking lot, but they eventually made their return to the ring.
The bout featured everything from a barbed-wire-covered poker chip and a screwdriver to a chair and a leafblower. In one highlight, Matt Jackson kicked Moxley, and his shoe exploded, as he had rigged it with some kind of explosive. By the end, most of the participants were bloody messes, but the arrival of a newcomer tipped the match on its head.
In the last few moments, Don Callis distracted Hangman Page, and Wheeler Yuta gouged him with a fork. Omega got in Callis’ face, but the former champion was attacked by a hooded individual, who revealed himself to be Konosuke Takeshita. Yuta then pinned Omega to win the match.
Prior to the pay-per-view, Callis previously recruited Takeshita into The Elite, and he was recognized as an honorary member. The Blackpool Combat Club took Takeshita out with a brutal attack, and he hadn’t been seen since. Callis previously turned on Omega and helped Moxley beat him in a Steel Cage Match on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.
