Toni Storm Wins AEW Women’s World Championship At AEW Double Or Nothing

Toni Storm won the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Double or Nothing, but her victory came with some controversy.

Jamie Hayter, the reigning champion, was injured ahead of the match, and The Outcasts attacked her on the May 26 episode of AEW Rampage. When it was time for her to make her entrance at AEW Double or Nothing, she didn’t appear. She eventually crawled out to the stage in the midst of another attack by Saraya and Ruby Soho of The Outcasts. The trio ganged up on the champion and attacked her at ringside. Though Hayter was already at a disadvantage, the referee rang the bell.

Storm controlled the action right away. Britt Baker came down and fought off Saraya, but Soho continued to interfere. Hikaru Shida leveled the playing field, as she took Soho out. Still, the damage was done, and in the end, Storm picked up the win by slamming Hayter into an exposed turnbuckle and hitting the Storm Zero for the win.

With the win, Storm became the first two-time AEW Women’s World Champion in AEW history. She previously won the title at AEW All Out 2022 and lost it to Hayter at AEW Full Gear.
