Cody Rhodes will have to deal with more adversity at WWE Night of Champions.
At the WWE Night of Champions media event on May 26, both Michael Cole and Byron Saxton stated that Rhodes’ broken arm had been “confirmed” after Brock Lesnar attacked “The American Nightmare” on the May 22 episode of WWE RAW. Rhodes was scheduled to face Lesnar at WWE Night of Champions, and even after the attack, he remained determined to wrestle on Saturday.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H was asked about Rhodes’ injury, and he noted that letting him compete might not be the best decision, but the two rivals had made it clear that they wanted to fight. He also asked the fans if they wanted to see the match, and the crowd expressed their excitement.
Rhodes spoke at the media event, and his arm was in a sling. He did not specifically comment on the injury, but he made it clear that he intended to fight Lesnar as scheduled.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available, and we will have coverage of WWE Night of Champions as it airs on May 27.
