Sami Zayn is getting ready to wrestle for the first time in Saudi Arabia as part of the WWE Night of Champions event on May 27.
A wrestler of Syrian descent, Zayn had never taken part in WWE’s Saudi Arabia spectaculars because of the relationship between Syria and Saudi Arabia.
Now that tensions have cooled off between Syria and Saudi Arabia, not only is Sami Zayn getting the opportunity to wrestle in Saudi Arabia but he is also getting the opportunity to fulfill a spiritual milestone.
Zaun took to Twitter to celebrate completing an Umrah, a pilgrimage to Mecca. The WWE Tag Team Champion noted that he was grateful for his position in wrestling and for WWE for allowing him opportunities such as this one and said that this opportunity ranks at the top of his list of unforgettable moments.
Sami Zayn looks to put a bow on his story with Roman Reigns as he once again teams up with Kevin Owens to face Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in defense of the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship.
