Jeff Jarrett On Whether He’ll Be In The 2023 Owen Hart Cup: That’s Not For Me To Decide

Owen Hart holds a special place in the heart of Jeff Jarrett, and many wrestlers still currently performing in 2023.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Jeff Jarrett recently sat down with WrestleZone’s Managing Editor, Bill Pritchard, to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the possibility of him competing in this year’s Owen Hart Cup, Jarrett said that’s not for him to decide but speaks on putting the deal together to have the tournament take place in Canada.

“That’s not for me to decide,” Jeff Jarrett said. “The fact that I’m part of the company and Martha and the Foundation — but here’s a cool little backstory. Obviously, I wear the Last Outlaw hat, but I also wear, I’ll call it an executive hat, and gosh, this goes back four months ago when the Calgary show came on the radar, and me connecting the dots and being a part of putting that deal together.

“It was a Saturday night, and we went on sale as a House Rules show as part of the Stampede, now fast forward to where we sit today, there’s the launch of Collision. The stars have really aligned, and the Owen [Cup] kicks off, and just how things are proceeding, it’s really, really exciting just to be a part of it.

“You’ve said it; Owen will always hold such a special place. The anniversary of his passing was here recently. But look, I plan of being the tag team champion certainly until we get to Wembley.”

Clearly, Jeff Jarrett won’t be an AEW Tag Team Champion heading into Wembley, but you can watch our interview with him and Jay Lethal in the embedded video below.
