Aussie Open is All Elite.
In a tweet on May 24, AEW CEO Tony Khan announced that Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher) have signed with All Elite Wrestling. Fletcher unsuccessfully challenged Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship on the May 24 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Aussie Open have competed for both AEW and ROH multiple times in recent months. Davis and Fletcher made their AEW debuts on the road to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 before they returned to the company earlier in 2023. The duo are former IWGP and NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions, as they have been featured with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Davis is currently sidelined with an injury, which forced Aussie Open to relinquish both the IWGP and NJPW STRONG Tag Team Championship. Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Khan paid for Davis’ meniscus surgery when Aussie Open weren’t under contract at the time.
