WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther says he doesn’t think there’s a rush for a match between him and Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns.
Speaking with Mike Jones, Gunther was asked about his move to WWE RAW. Jones noted that it felt like “The Ring General” had unfinished business on the blue brand, and Gunther responded by expressing his excitement about the change.
“I’m not too sure. I feel like I’ve accomplished my thing there for now,” Gunther said. “I was happy to move on to new things now and take the Intercontinental Championship with me. We’ll see what’s gonna happen. I think there’s a lot of possibilities for very exciting matches for our audience. So I’m excited.”
Jones noted that Gunther never got to face Roman Reigns during his time on the blue brand, and he expressed his belief that the match will happen someday. The WWE Intercontinental Champion responded by stating that he doesn’t think there’s a rush for the match, as he and Reigns are doing their own thing right now.
“I think there’s no rush with that,” Gunther said. “I think he’s doing his thing now, and I’m very focused on doing my thing. So I don’t really have an urge to seek out that confrontation. But like you said, down the line, it’s definitely one of the matches that fans are looking forward to.”
At WWE Night of Champions, Gunther will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Mustafa Ali. Meanwhile, Reigns and Solo Sikoa will challenge Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
