Kenny Omega: The Elite Proved Bitter Enemies Can Hash It Out For The Greater Good

Kenny Omega appeared to make a reference to CM Punk in a post-Dynamite promo.

Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a long-awaited reunion between “Hangman” Adam Page and The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks). After suffering an attack from the Blackpool Combat Club, Omega and The Young Bucks were joined by their former ally — Adam Page — to even the odds. The Elite then challenged the Blackpool Combat Club to Anarchy in the Arena Match at AEW Double or Nothing.

The Elite later delivered a post-show promo to the live crowd in Austin, Texas. In an excerpt of the promo (courtesy of @BrianZilem on Twitter), Kenny Omega commented on their reunion, making reference to their previous encounters with former AEW World Champion CM Punk.

“I saw a sign out there in the crowd. ‘Where’s Hangman?’ I saw another sign in the crowd. ‘Who can you trust, Kenny?’ I think we found Hangman, and I also think I found who I can trust. There’s a lot to celebrate today. You brought up a new show coming, AEW Collision. That’s exciting news. I can bring up that your night in pro wrestling is only getting started. We still have some Rampage [to film]. That all pales in comparison to something more near and dear to my heart, and that’s catching up with someone that I thought I’d maybe never be able to be in the same room with again,” Omega said, turning to “Hangman” Adam Page.

“If there’s one thing that this proves, Hangman, it’s that bitter enemies, bitter rivals, men that once hated one another, can sit in a room, can sit in a ring, and hash it out for the greater good. So, call me old-fashioned, if you will, but to me, that sounds like a cause for a celebration.”

Omega then requested that Brandon Cutler bring out the “goodies,” to which Page revealed was actually alcohol. After Page offered him a drink, Omega declined, citing his preference to remain straight-edge. The mentality of straight-edge is also one shared by their former rival, CM Punk.

“Now hold the phone there, señor Page. Hold the telephone. Now there is a lot of things that I’m willing to try once, twice if I like it, but alcohol, now that might be a bridge too far, my friend. We just got back together, for goodness’ sake. Come on, I’m straight-edge. Hello!” Omega said.

In the place of alcohol, Page gave Omega a half gallon of milk.
