Cameron Grimes made his in-ring SmackDown debut on the May 12 episode, and he scored a dominant win.
On the May 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, the former NXT star faced Baron Corbin in a singles match, which marked Grimes’ in-ring debut after he had been selected by SmackDown in the WWE Draft. Prior to the match, Corbin grabbed the mic and began berating Grimes, as he mocked the newcomer for being the last pick in the draft. However, when the bell rang, Grimes immediately clinched the victory by hitting the Cave In.
Alongside Grimes’ win, another NXT-turned-SmackDown superstar, Grayson Waller, got his first taste of SmackDown this week. In a backstage segment, Waller teased the premiere of the Waller Effect on SmackDown. He requested to host the winner of SmackDown’s side of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. WWE official Adam Pearce approved, so Waller will host his talk show on the May 19 episode of WWE SmackDown.
