WWE SmackDown viewership dropped ahead of WWE Backlash.
Wrestlenomics reports that 2.059 million viewers watched the show on May 5, which is down from last week, when 2.473 million viewers tuned in.
In the 18 to 49 demographic, SmackDown scored a 0.52 rating and ranked #5 in the demographic. The April 28 episode drew a 0.67 rating in the same demographic.
Wrestlenomics noted that, against the NBA and NHL playoff, SmackDown drew its lowest total viewership since August 2022, and its lowest demographic rating since December 2022.
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown was the go-home show ahead of WWE Backlash. In the main event, Rey Mysterio and Zelina Vega battled Dominik Mysterio and SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day. Elsewhere on the show, Shinsuke Nakamura clashed with Karrion Kross, and The O.C. faced the Viking Raiders.
