Time will tell whether Cameron Grimes is going to the moon, but he has arrived on WWE SmackDown.
The former NXT star was selected by WWE SmackDown during the 2023 WWE Draft, and he appeared on the May 5 episode of the show. WWE official Adam Pearce welcomed Grimes to the blue brand, but the newcomer was quickly confronted by Baron Corbin.
The former King of the Ring winner mocked Grimes for being the last pick in the draft, while Grimes fired back by poking fun at Corbin’s status as a free agent. Corbin told Grimes he’ll be irrelevant, and Grimes challenged him to a match. Pearce then made the match official for the May 12 episode.
Grimes is a former NXT North American Champion, and he also held the Million Dollar Championship during his time on the brand. He has not wrestled on NXT since November 2022, but he competed in a dark match at the February 24 taping of WWE SmackDown.
