Steph De Lander Reflects On Her WWE Release, Her Current Run On The Indies

Steph De Lander looks back on her WWE release and shares her thoughts on her current run on the independent scene.

De Lander signed with WWE in 2021, and she subsequently debuted as Persia Pirotta, Indi Hartwell’s best friend, on NXT TV. She was paired up with Hartwell, and she had a featured role in her storyline with Dexter Lumis. Hartwell and Pirotta briefly feuded with Toxic Attraction before the latter was released in a round of cuts in April 2022. Since then, De Lander has had a successful run on the independent scene. She has also competed on IMPACT Wrestling and ROH TV.

In a post on Instagram, De Lander reflected on her release and noted that it was the best thing to happen to her career. She stated that she realized she is in complete control of her career and her destiny.

The post is as follows:

“Exactly 1 year ago I lost my dream job. Today I sit here & realise it was probably the best thing to happen to my career. Initially, I didn’t know where I fit in on the independent scene. Bitch, I am the independent scene! At first, I groaned at the idea of being back on the indies.

“But then I realised, now more than ever I am in complete control of my career and my destiny. With a pair of wrestling boots and a microphone in hand, watch me take over the entire f—— industry. What an exciting time to be SDL. @harryjaaron”

In recent weeks, De Lander has been working alongside Matt Cardona on the independent scene, and she also continues to stand out on her own.
