Mickey Mouse Is Way More Awesome Than The Miz

The Miz and Mickey Mouse have a bit in common — they’re both awesome. Depending on who you ask, one of them might be just a little more popular than the other.

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with The Miz about being a parent. The pair talked about being girl dads and Miz was asked what the best unexpected part about being a father was. Miz said he’s not an emotional guy, but seeing his children experiencing the world moved him in a way he didn’t anticipate.

“I don’t cry. I’m not a crier. Even my wife was like, ‘I’ve never seen you cry before.’ But now I feel they opened a part of my heart and a part of my emotions that I can feel [myself] welling up whenever I talk about them or think about them,” Miz said.

“We went to Disneyland for my daughter’s birthday and to see the wonderment and the joy in their faces of things that they’d never experienced before or things they’d seen on TV. And then they see them in like real life and they’re like, ‘Oh my God,’ like that absolute shock,” he explained. “We went to this character breakfast and my daughter saw Chip from Chip ‘n Dale. It’s not even like, it’s not like an [all-time great] character, it’s Chip, and my daughter went nuts. But when Mickey [Mouse] came in the room, it was like a bona fide celebrity.”

Does she think Mickey is awesome?

“Way more awesome than me,” Miz proclaimed.

The Miz also spoke about getting the chance to host WrestleMania 39. Miz is not only a WWE star but he has adopted Los Angeles as his home. Miz said the event was an honor that he was not taking lightly.

“It’s an honor. It’s one of those things where it’s like, ‘Wow, I’m not just hosting one night, I’m hosting two nights.’ That’s a lot of work,” Miz said. “[Night one] is where you really feel the crowd, feel the energy, feel the electricity of the day. We got to feel a sample of it in Phoenix leading up to it and you can start feeling the rumblings like, ‘Oh, it’s Mania season.’ You can feel it, you can feel the energy. I don’t know if you can feel the energy, but as a superstar coming into LA and doing all the community work that we’ve been doing,” Miz said, “it just gets you primed up and ready for the main attraction, which is WrestleMania Saturday and Sunday.”
