Alex Kane has earned a shot at the gold.
MLW Battle Riot V was taped at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 8. On the April 25 episode of MLW Underground, Major League Wrestling aired the 40-man match, which is a battle royal with modified rules. In addition to being eliminated by going over the top rope, contestants can also be pinned or submitted.
The 2023 Battle Riot kicked off with Alex Kane, and he delivered a record-breaking performance en route to victory. The match came down to Kane, John Hennigan, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and Shigehiro Irie, and the “Suplex Assassin” outlasted them all. By winning the Battle Riot, Kane earned a shot at the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.
With the victory, Kane joined past winners Tom Lawloer, LA Park, Alex Hammerstone, and Jacob Fatu. Only Lawlor and Fatu went on to win their title match when they cashed in their opportunity. Hammerstone remains the reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion; he dethroned Fatu at MLW Fightland 2021.
