WWE To Crown World Heavyweight Champion At WWE Night Of Champions

Triple H‘s announcement ended up being massive, as a new-look WWE World Heavyweight Championship was unveiled on the April 24 episode of WWE RAW.

After WWE teased a “huge” announcement all day, Triple H made his way to the ring on Monday night and spoke at length about the history of WWE’s championships. He then brought up Roman Reigns and his legendary run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Triple H said that Reigns had negotiated a deal that didn’t require him to defend his title much, which was good for him, but bad for WWE.

With that in mind, Triple H said, the new plan of action was to have Reigns take his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship with him to whatever brand he is drafted to. The other brand, however, would be getting another championship. It was then that he unveiled the World Heavyweight Championship, complete with a belt that had a brand-new design.

Triple H said that this champion would be crowned on May 27, 2023, at WWE’s Night of Champions premium live event, and that the winner would be defending their belt anywhere, any place, anytime, and all over the world.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
