Ric Flair: I Don’t Care What He Does, Vince McMahon Is My Hero

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair says Vince McMahon is his hero.

McMahon is back in WWE after he previously retired on July 2022 amid a WWE Board investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money. On April 3, WWE announced that it entered into nan agreement with Endeavor that will see the company merge with UFC.

Speaking with UFC commentator Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience, Flair discussed WWE’s upcoming merger with UFC. Rogan pointed out that Endeavor left Dana White in charge when they acquired the UFC. (Transcription credit of Jeremy Lambert of Fightful)

Ric Flair: I just can’t see Vince taking orders. That will be a strange one for me if someone tried to tell Vince what the hell to do.

Joe Rogan: Who the f— knows more about wrestling than that guy?

Flair: Nobody.

Rogan and Flair then went back and forth about the “scandals” McMahon has been involved with, and Flair stated that the former WWE CEO is his hero.

Rogan: When he was getting involved in scandals and there was girls that he paid off. I just wanted to say, duh! Duh! You have an 80-year-old savage who is built like a f—— gladiator. Gee, you think he f—-? You think Vince McMahon is doing that for hee-hees and haw-haws? No, of course he has some floosies on the side.

Flair: He’s my hero.

Rogan: He’s an animal.

Flair: I judge people by how they treat me and he has treated me like…I’ve never had anyone treat me with more respect in this business.

Rogan: That’s awesome.

Flair: He’s a great guy. I don’t care what he does. He’s my hero.

Flair and Rogan went on to highlight the way McMahon built his business into a titan, and “The Nature Boy” praised the Chairman of the Board for having big balls.

Rogan: Before him, there was no one of that caliber. There was no one who put together an organization as big as WWF.

Flair: No. He’s got balls bigger than f—— Dallas, Texas. He’s not easily intimidated.

When the report that McMahon ran some elements of WWE creative following his return came up, specifically with the April 3 episode of WWE RAW, came up, Flair shared his belief that McMahon’s entitled to make changes as he sees fit.

“He just spends all day…he’s so invested time-wise and mentally,” Flair said. “To me, he’s sharp as a tack. He had a chance, took a break from it, but it gave him a chance to look at the product, come back at it, and fix what he thought was right or wrong. To me, he’s entitled to do that. He owns it, he built it.”

McMahon previously commented on the decision to sell WWE. More information is available here.
