Is Warner Bros. Discovery really interested in acquiring WWE programming?
Journalist James Andrew Miller was a recent guest on SI Media With Jimmy Traina to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about what other companies beyond NBC and FOX might be interested in having WWE programming, Miller pointed to All Elite Wrestling‘s current home on Warner Bros. Discovery.
“I think so. And I wouldn’t be surprised, despite the fact that money is such an issue for them, I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner Brothers Discovery wouldn’t like a slice of that WWE pie,” James Miller teased.
Miller went as far as to speculate that WWE’s flagship show Monday Night RAW could potentially even switch nights if they move to a new network.
“Monday Night does not have to be on Monday night,” James Miller said. “Monday night is a tough night, because if you go through the calendar all year round, there’s sports on Monday night. And you could, if you’re Warner Brothers Discovery, you could say, we’re gonna move it to a different night, we could have the NBA on Thursday night, but we’re gonna figure out a different night for it and all of a sudden it becomes very attractive.”
When asked if he believed Warner Bros. Discovery would want programming from both WWE and All Elite Wrestling on the same channel, Miller didn’t seem to be entirely sure.
“I don’t know. I just know there are people at Warner Brothers who are interested [in WWE],” Miller said.
With Warner Bros. Discovery adding even more All Elite Wrestling programming in the coming months, we’re inclined to believe this is much ado about nothing. But in the world of television programming, it’s hard to completely rule anything out.
