Hiroshi Tanahashi will miss more time due to an injury.

After suffering a rib injury at NJPW Capital Collision on April 15, Tanahashi was pulled from the card for the Collision in Philadelphia event the next day.

In a post on their official website, New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Tanahashi will also miss at least some of the events during the Road to Wrestling Dontaku series, which will begin on April 20. As of this writing, the date of his return to the ring has not been determined.

“At Capital Collision on April 15, Hiroshi Tanahashi sustained a rib injury, and was absent from the following night’s Collision in Philadelphia. After examination it has been determined that Tanahashi will be absent from forthcoming events on the Road to Dontaku Series starting today, April 20 in Nara, with a return date to be determined,” New Japan Pro-Wrestling wrote in a statement.

“We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Tanahashi wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. Changes have been made to forthcoming cards: for full updated match listings, check our schedule page. New Japan Pro-Wrestling joins fans in wishing Tanahashi a fast and full recovery.”

As previously announced, Tanahashi is set to face Will Ospreay at NJPW Resurgence.
