AEW is reportedly set to expand its programming lineup with a new show on Saturday, and more information continues to shine a light on the situation.
As first reported by WrestleZone’s Matt Black, AEW Collison is slated to premiere on Saturday, June 17. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast subsequently reported that the show would have a soft brand split. It has also been reported that the show would center around CM Punk, who has been absent from the company since September 2022 following a brawl with The Elite.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Zarian reported that Warner Bros. Discovery has been informed that Punk is returning. Zarian noted that while Punk has made it clear that he’s willing to work with The Elite, there was no intention on their side to work with him. Per Zarian, Omega might be a “little bit more” willing than the Young Bucks. The report also noted that there has been no dialogue between the two sides about “sitting down and making this work.”
Additionally, Zarian stated that the “soft brand split” that has previously been reported would not be so so after all, so the Saturday show would have at least some people who are predominantly part of that roster.
Plus, the report noted that the main program on the Saturday show would likely involve Punk and Jericho, as the latter may be willing to make it work.
