Darby Allin wrestled on national television the day after he got hit by a car.
During the April 7 episode of AEW Rampage, Allin faced Lee Moriarty in a singles match. The broadcast team noted that Allin was hit by a car while he was skateboarding in New York City the day before. While it was easy to assume the commentators may have been stretching the truth to hype up Allin’s nature as a daredevil, a new report suggests that the incident actually happened.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Allin was indeed hit by a car on April 6. The report noted that Allin had road rash on his back and side but “evidently nothing worse than that.”
Allin, a former TNT Champion, also wrestled on the April 12 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he beat Swerve Strickland in a hard-fought match.
