Eddie Kingston is currently sidelined with an injury, and the Ring of Honor star says he’ll likely need surgery.
Kingston last wrestled at ROH Supercard of Honor on March 31, where he unsuccessfully challenged Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship. He was set to face Fabriel Kidd at NJPW Collision Philadelphia on April 16, but NJPW announced that “The Mad King” was unable to compete.
On the April 14 episode of ROH TV, Kingston discussed his loss to Castagnoli and noted that he will likely need surgery due to a hernia.
“I’ve been dealing with a hernia injury. I just found out it was a hernia,” Kingston said. “I’ve been dealing with an injury since September. No excuse. I went into that match against Claudio at Supercard thinking that I can go in there and I can bully that man around like I have in the past. I was wrong. My game plan was, I didn’t stick to it originally. I grabbed the head, I was gonna work on the neck, I saw the leg, I was gonna hit his skinny legs. Then, I went back to what I know, which is just to fight.
“Claudio was the better man. You were better. I ain’t gonna front. My man, you put a whooping on me. The reason why I’m gonna most likely need surgery for this hernia, or the hernia acted up really bad, and I’ve had it since September, was because you beat my ass that much that I couldn’t sleep that night, I couldn’t get comfortable. It felt like someone was taking their two fingers and pushing it on my balls, and it was going to my stomach.”
As of this writing, it’s unclear how long Kingston will be sidelined. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
