Finn Balor‘s road to WrestleMania was nearly derailed by an injury.
In a post on Instagram, Balor described how he suffered a grade 2 calf tear on the March 10 episode of WWE SmackDown and noted that the normal recovery time is between six and eight weeks. However, the WWE medical team helped him back it back in time for WWE WrestleMania 39.
Balor also cited his wife, who called the injury the “demon” of his career and stated that he needed to overcome it to unleash his demon at WrestleMania.
At WWE WrestleMania 39, Balor lost to Edge in a violent Hell in a Cell match.
