Report: Charlotte Flair Taking Time Off Following WWE WrestleMania 39

Charlotte Flair is reportedly taking time away from WWE after just having dropped the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley.

Charlotte Flair just lost the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39. Charlotte’s most recent run with the title began on December 30, 2022, immediately after she had returned from a hiatus that began the last time she dropped the SmackDown Title to Ronda Rousey at WWE Backlash 2022.

Now, a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider notes that Charlotte is once again taking time away from WWE, a decision that was reportedly not shared with those in WWE until after she had dropped the title.

There is no given reason for her taking time off, but Charlotte Flair recently told ESPN that she was considering taking part in the bodybuilding competition this summer.

“I would love, love, love to do a [bodybuilding] competition. I’m thinking about doing it this summer. I know what goes into it from a diet standpoint and how lean you get. How do I make that work on the road?”

Rhea Ripley started her era as champion by verbally confronting Bianca Belair on Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 39.
