Tony Khan has gone into detail as to why we haven’t seen much of Bandido on All Elite Wrestling programming as of late.
With Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor taking place Friday night, Tony Khan sat down with the media this afternoon for a media call to discuss a variety of topics related to Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling. While discussing scouting international talents, Khan spoke of Bandido and the recent visa issues he’s been going through.
“Bandido is one of the great examples of an international wrestler who I’d seen in Ring of Honor in particular. And, of course, he was on All In, and he’s a tremendous talent,” Tony Khan said. “He’s somebody who actually signed with ROH when we started AEW and was loyal to ROH, which is great, and when I acquired ROH, he had been the lineal champion, and I really like working with him.
“And he’s one of a number of my international wrestlers who I really liked, who have had to renew their visas, and it’s nothing nefarious. It’s just that it’s a process that when you use international talent for a company that does a bulk of its business domestically.
“Then you’re going to see visa renewals, and you deal with it whether it’s in AEW or in English football, where you have to process visas and deal with work permits and things of that nature, bringing in international players. So I really was very excited to get Bandido’s stuff all settled. And I think he’s been a great example of somebody that has a great chance to excel in both promotions and internationally.”
