WWE NXT will hold its biggest show of the year, NXT Stand & Deliver, on April 1, but the company has announced the date for its next show.
Shawn Michaels conducted a pop-up media conference on March 30, and he announced that NXT will hold NXT Battleground in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 28. AEW Double or Nothing will also be held on May 28.
WWE then announced the news in an official press release and confirmed that NXT Battleground will be held at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass. on Sunday, May 28. This will mark the first time that an NXT premium live event has taken place in Massachusetts’s. The show will air on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network elsewhere.
Battleground marks NXT’s third show outside of the WWE Performance Center in 2023; the brand was confined to the WWE Performance Center throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The company held NXT Stand & Deliver 2022 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, but its other events throughout the year were still held at the Performance Center. But in 2023, Vengeance Day (North Carolina), Stand & Deliver (California), and now Battleground (Massachusetts) all mark a return to touring, at least for premium live events.
WWE previously held the Battleground pay-per-view from 2013-2017.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
