Rey Mysterio has finally agreed to fight his son.
For weeks, Dominik Mysterio has been trying to goad Rey into a match at WWE WrestleMania 39. Rey has repeatedly refused, as he stated that fighting his son would be a disgrace as a father. But on the March 24 episode of WWE SmackDown, Dominik pushed Rey past his limits.
Rey faced LA Knight in a singles match on Friday. Dominik distracted his father and cost him the match. After the match, Dominik again challenged Rey to a match, but he turned his son down again. In response, Dominik confronted his mother and sister, who were at ringside for the match. He called his mom a deadbeat and told her to shut up when she tried to say something. This prompted Rey to come over and hit Dominik. Rey then accepted Dominik’s challenge to a match at WWE WrestleMania 39.
