Dax Harwood: Mick Foley Might Sell Even Better Than Bret Hart

If Dax Harwood says he thinks someone does something better in-ring than Bret Hart, that is the highest praise he could possibly give.

On the latest episode of FTR with Dax Harwood, the All Elite Wrestling star spoke about Mick Foley‘s rivalry with Triple H and how Foley helped shape the career of The Cerebral Assassin.

“Oh my god, dude, so incredible I go back and watch the Royal Rumble match all the time,” Dax Harwood admitted. “The Hell in a Cell, from what February pay-per-view was that? I can’t remember. Maybe No Way Out or something? Incredible match too. I think that Foley is probably, along with Bret, the most underrated seller of all time. Because — and maybe even more than Bret because you never knew when he was actually hurt or when he was selling.

“And I think that’s what tied into why people care about him. The people did not care about his elbow drop off the apron to the floor; they didn’t care about that. To be honest, they didn’t even care about the f**king mandible claw or Mr. Socko — maybe they did care about Mr. Socko. But the mandible claw or the running knee in the corner, they didn’t care about that. Those are just moves to tie into his character. They cared about him and his well-being.

“That’s why they couldn’t keep him heel. That’s why he couldn’t be a heel because people felt so much sympathy for him because they didn’t know when he was working and when he was really hurt. And I think that is the true definition of a magician. The true definition of a professional and an artist is someone who can make you for one second think, ‘Oh my God, is he really hurt?’ That’s, yeah, he’s incredible.”
