All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on March 10.
Tonight, former champions Riho and Nyla Rose will clash in a singles match. Riho and Rose were the first AEW Women’s World Champions; Riho beat Rose on the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite to win the gold.
Elsewhere on the show, Konosuke Takeshita will face Preston Vance, and Action Andretti will take on Sammy Guevara. Guevara previously defeated Andretti on the February 24 episode of AEW Rampage. Former AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) will also be in action, but their opponents were not named.
The results are as follows:
Match 1: Sammy Guevara defeats Action Andretti via pinfall
In the opening match of the night, Guevara nearly lost after Andretti tried to hit a running shooting star splash on him at the end. However, Guevara got his knees up, and after the fight went on for a bit, he would turn the tables. At the end of the match, Sammy distracted the referee, which allowed Daniel Garcia to come in from out of nowhere and attack Andretti.
After the help from Garcia, Guevara then hit his GTH move on the opponent for the pin and win.
Segment: Jungle Boy
In a brief segment, “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry said that the chapter in his life with Christian Cage is now over, and that he is changing his focus, to every single person in the company with a championship belt around their waist. He said he would be seeing one of them very soon.
Match 2: The Acclaimed defeat Starboy Charlie & Jack Cartwheel
In a fairly quick match, The Acclaimed finished off the duo almost immediately despite Starboy trying to showboat by pulling down his overall straps. The Acclaimed didn’t care much, however, as they hit a Mic Drop for a quick win, and then celebrated with a scissor.
Match 3: Konosuke Takeshita defeats Preston Vance via pinfall
In his first match since threatening to walk away from All Elite Wrestling, Takeshita walked out with a big win. With Don Callis watching from the commentary area, Takeshita and Vance fought to a standstill, but Jose the Assistant nearly stole the show by helping Vance break up a submission late in the match. After Takeshita took out Vance’s help, however, Takeshita then countered a lariat into a big move for the win.
Promo: Swerve Strickland
In a backstage promo, Strickland said that he might have underestimated Keith Lee. With Trench and Parker Boudreaux now both on the shelf, Strickland said he’s not done with Lee yet, and that he’d be coming, because he never loses.
In-ring segment: Mark Briscoe
In the ring, Briscoe announced that Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor pay-per-view will feature a “Reach for the Sky” Ladder Match for the ROH World Tag Team Championships. The first team in the match will be the Lucha Brothers, as confirmed by Mark Briscoe. Briscoe, one-half of the reigning champions (with his late brother Jay Briscoe) will also be involved in the match as an announcer.
Match 4: Riho defeats Nyla Rose via pinfall
The final match of the night lived up to the hype, as Riho and Nyla Rose went at it from the very start. Towards the end of the match, Marina Shafir — who was at ringside late — tripped up Riho while the referee wasn’t looking, allowing Nyla to try and get some attacks in. However, as she tried to hit the Beast Bomb, Riho countered and rolled Rose into a pin for the win.
Following the match, Nyla and Marina attacked Riho, before Toni Storm, Saraya, and Ruby Soho came running out for the apparent save. Nyla and Shafir let them run past without any attacks, however, and the trio began spray painting Riho before attacking her even more.
