AEW Revolution 2023 Results (3/5/23): MJF vs. Bryan Danielson, Moxley vs. Page

On March 5, All Elite Wrestling presented its first pay-per-view of 2023, AEW Revolution.

The results are as follows:

Zero Hour: Pre-Show

Renee Paquette kicks off the show and runs through the card.

RJ City interviews Orange Cassidy and Danhausen.

Renee Paquette and Don Callis discuss the Texas Death Match between Jon Moxley and Hangman Page. They also preview the AEW World Trios Championship match between The Elite and House of Black.

Mark Briscoe and the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) vs. Varsity Athletes (Josh Woods & Tony Nese) and Ari Daivari

Penta and Nese start the bout and feel each other out. The match breaks down as the two trios brawl. Penta gets a two count on a pumphandle slam. Daivari stops Penta from attacking Sterling. Nese and his team take control as they ground Penta and isolate him. Penta rallies with a DDT. He drops Woods with a slingblade. Fenix tags in and clears house with a flurry of offense. He takes Nese down with an acrobatic arm drag. Woods catches Fenix with a knee strike and slams him into the corner. Penta breaks up the pin. Briscoe tags in and takes the fight to Woods and Daivari. Mark drops Woods with a kick and knocks Nese off the apron with a big boot.

The Lucha Brothers dive onto Nese and Daivari on the outside. Mark dives onto them after he vaults off a chair. Mark gets crotched on the ropes. The Lucha Brothers get involved, and everyone is down after a Tower of Doom. Nese gets a two count with a 450 Splash. Sterling distracts the referee, and Daivari breaks something over Mark’s head. Mark kicks out of the pin after a double-team move. Penta and Fenix take and Daivari out with some combination offense. Mark hits the Froggy Bow on Daivari for the win.

Alex Abrahantes shoves Sterling into the ring, and he gets dropped with the Fear Factor.

AEW Double or Nothing is announced for May 28.

RJ City interviews Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Daniel Garcia. Menard is upset, and his nipples aren’t hard, because the JAS has been banned from ringside for Chris Jericho’s match. Parker says he doesn’t feel like himself and his hair is out of place. Garcia says Ricky Starks is soft, and Jericho has the match in the bag.

In an interview, Toni Storm refuses to reveal her and Saraya’s plan for the women’s title match. She sprays RJ City with some spray pain.

Renee Paquette interviews Britt Baker, who says she added legitimacy to the women’s division. She says Jamie Hayter is the best women’s wrestler in the world. Baker also says Toni Storm and Saraya are confused, and no one cares about what they have to say.

In an interview, Powerhouse Hobbs previewed his upcoming TNT Championship match on AEW Dynamite. City asks to touch the Face of the Revolution ring.

Sonjay Dutt looks forward to the tag title match and says everyone’s worst nightmare of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal winning the gold will come true tonight.

Adam Cole discusses the looming premiere of AEW: All Access and previews his return to the ring.

Main Show

Jericho Appreciation Society Barred From Ringside: Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks

Starks, whose ribs are taped up, takes the fight to Jericho and takes control early on. The match spills out of the ring briefly. They return back to the squared circle, and Jericho gains the upper hand. Starks evades the Lionsault. Jericho suplexes Starks onto the ropes and knocks him off the apron, sending him into the apron. The former world champion maintains the advantage with a lionsault and sends Starks to the outside with a dropkick.

Starks rallies and gets a two count with a DDT. Jericho regains the upper hand. Starks counters a Codebreaker, but Jericho reverses a Spear into a Codebreaker for a two count. Jericho and Starks trade blows. Starks nails Jericho with a Spear for a two count. Jericho traps Starks in the Walls of Jericho. Starks reverses it into a single-leg crab. Sammy Guevara comes down the ramp, but Action Andretti tackles him and fights him off. Jericho hits Starks with Floyd the bat. Starks blocks the Judas Effect and hits the Roshambo for the win.

Winner: Ricky Starks

The Final Burial: Christian Cage vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry

Cage and Perry take the fight to each other. The fight spills outside. Cage tries to run away into the crowd, but Perry chases him down. Back in the ring, Cage gains the upper hand and grounds Perry. “Jungle Boy” rallies with a dive to the outside and slams Cage into the steel steps. Cage trips Perry on the steel steps and he lands hard on the steps. The veteran whips Perry with his belt and chokes him with it.

Cage pulls some chairs out of the casket. Perry and Cage fight by the casket, and Christian hits a back body drop on the floor. Perry dives off the stage and lands on Cage. Cage kicks Perry below the belt and slams his head on the casket. He tries to close the lid, but Perry fights out. Cage hits the Killswitch on the floor. He goes for a Con-Chair-To, but Perry evades it. Cage chokes Perry with a shovel. Perry dodges Cage’s attempt to hit him with the shovel. He uses the shovel while he locks Cage in the Snare Trap. Perry blasts Christian with the Con-Chair-To. He puts Cage in the casket, closes the lid, and shoves the casket down to win the match.

Winner: “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry
