WWE Remains Interested In MJF When His AEW Contract Expires

As if there was any doubt, WWE is indeed interested in picking up MJF when his contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) expires.

Fightful Select is reporting that WWE remains ‘obviously interested’ in signing MJF whenever his AEW contract expires. Fightful was unable to pinpoint the specific date that the contract will expire. Sources said that WWE officials are not even sure when the contract expires and are only operating under when they assume it will expire based off of what they heard. There is no official word that MJF ever extended his contract beyond the widely speculated early 2024 timeframe. MJF continues to tell anyone who asks him publicly that the deal does expire at the start of 2024.

To further fuel the fire, sources indicated that MJF reached out to WWE talent to say that he’s ‘looking forward to being there in 2024’. It was noted that while MJF wants WWE talent to believe him and take it seriously, they still only take this with a grain of salt. Word about MJF making these comments spread throughout some of the WWE locker room.

MJF has been AEW World Champion since November and will defend his championship tonight at Revolution against Bryan Danielson in a 60-minute Iron Man match. Be sure to tune into Wrestlezone for live coverage of the show.
