Eddie Kingston Says He ‘Quits’ AEW After 3/1 AEW Dynamite

Eddie Kingston has left the building.

Kingston competed, albeit briefly, on the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite as he was part of the lineup for the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. Not long after the bell rang, Kingston got tangled up in a wild brawl with Ortiz. Kingston previously turned on his friend and tag team partner on the January 20 episode of AEW Rampage, and they have been at odds ever since. Their brawl on Wednesday took them out of the match as they wound up backstage, where they had to be separated.

Following AEW Dynamite, Lexy Nair spoke to Kingston in a Digital Exclusive, hoping to get an answer about what transpired during the ladder match. Instead, Kingston said, “I quit AEW,” and he walked off into the night.

In addition to a number of instances in which he has made controversial comments about AEW and stars like MJF, Kingston also playfully voiced his displeasure ahead of AEW Dynamite. Responding to the news that he was part of the ladder match, he tweeted a GIF in which Steve of Family Guy said, “I hate this place.”

Kingston has officially been announced for the first episode of ROH TV since Tony Khan acquired the company; the show will premiere on HonorClub on March 2.

WrestleZone will continue to monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.
