The Gunns like to tie their love of Westerns into their work inside the squared circle.
During a recent interview with WrestleZone, The Gunns were asked about having a finishing move called 3:10 To Yuma. The move, which saw Colten backdropping his opponent and Austin hitting a neckbreaker on the way down, was named after the 2007 James Mangold film of the same name.
Asked if there was another film they would name a finishing maneuver after, Colten picked 2016’s Hell Or High Water starring Ben Foster and Chris Pine.
Colten: “Have you seen that movie Hell Or High Water? I think maybe that’s a little too much to say on commentary. ‘Oh my God! They just hit them with the Hell Or High Water’ but I think that’s a really cool title.”
Austin agreed, then said they actually reworked the 3:10 To Yuma, teasing that fans could see it in their match at AEW Revolution.
Austin: “I think I’ve got to take that. Me and Colten are always trying to name our finishers after cool Westerns that we’ve seen, whether it’s Tombstone or it’s True Grit. I’m going to have to go with Colten’s answer, but I do want to say that the 3:10 To Yuma has been fixed and revamped. You’ll probably see it at Revolution. We’re going to try and break it out. 3:10 To Yuma has a whole different meaning now, and you’re not kicking out of that.”
The Gunns will defend their titles against The Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Danhausen & Orange Cassidy at AEW Revolution on March 5.
